The college has a vibrant Entrepreneurship Development Club. The aim of the club is to inculcate the culture of entrepreneurship among the students. We conduct classes, discussions, experience sharing of successful business people and industrial visits to equip them with knowledge, skill, technique and confidence which are essential for a good entrepreneur.EDC REPORT FINAL

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Club operates with the aim of augmenting the opportunity for students to explore prospects of entrepreneurship. The club also bridges the gap between Industry and Academia by conducting various programmes for the students and acts as a springboard into a world of new-age technologies.

The Nature Club of St. Paul’s College was established in 1996. The main objectives of the club are to make aware the students the importance of environmental protection, sustainable use of resources and conservation of biodiversity. The main activities of the club are organizing seminars, exhibitions, tree planting, taking students to nature camps and trekking to wild life sanctuaries and national parks.

The Anti-drug Club of the college functions with the aim of ensuring a drug free campus and building up a healthy student environment. The duty of the cell involves organising Classes/Campaigns in the college by Vimukthi Mission and other government authorized agencies. The members of the club take the responsibility of peer policing to weed out all kinds drug invasion in the college. Various activities of the club ascertain wholehearted student participation to curb the menace of drugs for a safe campus.

Music is a beautiful language that creates a bond between people regardless of age, creed, culture and nationality. It acts as an epithet of intellect, discipline, emotion and expression. Music Club of St. Paul’s is formed to identify the musical talents of students and to provide them with opportunities to exhibit them. It is one of the very active clubs as it has a role to play in every important function that happen in the college. The club trains and promotes the singing birds to participate in various musical competitions as well as to develop aesthetics of melody.

The Quiz Club of St. Paul’s College, Kalamassery has been formed to hone the quizzing skills and encourage the talents of the student community. Besides conducting quizzes and forming the college teams, it also facilitates the students’ participation in quiz programmes in other institutions.

Tourism Club was started in the year 2002 with the help of District Tourism Promotion Council. The club offers guidance to careers in tourism. The club organises tours to near by tourist spots to understands the impacts of tourism, and promotes interest in environmental debates etc.

St. Paul’s College has adopted and implemented a Mentoring System as a student support measure. The system, though flexible, functions along well-defined lines.
Each faculty member is the mentor of a group of 20 to 25 students allocated to him/ her by the Head of the Department.  The teacher mentor collects personal information from the ward without touching sensitive issues or forcing any information out of the wards and then provides the needed counselling to the wards. Critical issues are brought in the notice of the Head of the Department. The teacher meets the wards informally outside class hours as well and guides them regarding their career options. A documented record (Mentor’s Diary) of the mentoring process is maintained by the mentor teacher and the Head of the Department for reference purposes.
Responsibilities:
The Mentor
● Meets the group of students at least twice a month.
● Helps in developing the Career Plan of the Mentee.
● Continuously monitors, counsels, guides and motivates the students in all academic matters.
● Advises students regarding choice of electives, project etc.
● Contacts parents/guardians if situation demands e.g. academic irregularities, negative behavioural changes and interpersonal relations, detrimental activities etc.
● Advises students in their career development/professional guidance.
● Keeps contact with the students even after their graduation.
● Intimates HOD and suggest if any administrative action is called for.
● Maintains a detail progressive record of the student.

It envisions to provide pupils with the scope of developing divergent thinking and to articulate them with intelligible coherent reasoning that would certainly enable students to take on leadership roles at an early age. The society supports its members with expert training, friendly sessions and ample practice.

AICUF is an International organisation of Catholic University students, which is a blend of catholic values and secular nature. The movement was started in 1924, at St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchirappalli by Fr. Carty, S.J. in order to engender social awareness, social justice and social commitment in the youth towards the society. Students, who like to develop a critical and creative approach to life, involve in studies and activities linked to broader social issues and struggles with a view to become a constructive force within the college and outside, are encouraged to join the AICUF unit, irrespective of their religions

Jesus Youth is an International Catholic Youth Movement organized by the Roman Catholic church in the mid-1970s to foster catholic values and spirituality among the Catholic students. The movement invites its youth to follow a lifestyle based on the life of Jesus Christ to become the light of the world. The strength of the movement is its special focus on a life centered on the Lord Jesus Christ: beginning with an experience of God nourished by prayer, the Word of God, the sacraments and fellowship, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others to become enlightened youth.

I.T. awareness Club gives proper knowledge about the fast growing I.T. world. The club assists students for the efficient use of different devices. Club activities familiarize the students, all about the new facilities and software available in the field of I.T. and make lifestyle more suitable for the fast growing world. It makes the students aware of cyber laws and cyber crimes and help them to proceed in the right direction.

ENCON CLUB is a purely voluntary non profit group activity of students aimed at practising energy conservation and environmental protection. This gives a platform for the members to acquire process and share knowledge on the subject. The main objective of the club is to drive home the message of energy conservation and environmental protection in the minds of students by planning and organizing regular activities.

The club remains committed to providing opportunities for students to hone their skills in public speaking and engage critically with the pressing issues of the time. The events arranged would focus on the aspect of inclusiveness so that students remain alive to the topical issues facing students’ and the world outside. The club offers a platform for students to improve their communication skills and develop an assertive personality that may help them navigate challenges of later life.

Walk with  a scholar (WWS) a flagship initiative of the Dept. of Collegiate Education, Kerala started functioning in the college in October 2014. They are specialized mentoring programmes for UG students of all streams. The programme functions with 6 mentors for 30 students for each UG batch selected on the basis of merit and the mentors remain as guide and friend to the students. The mentors give them the right orientation preparing them for employment and provide guidance and support to identify appropriate areas for higher study. Experts in various fields enrich students  through external mentoring sessions. There are also programmes like Meet Great Achievers, Motivational visits, personality development camps and workshops arranged every year.

Electoral literacy club of St. Paul’s College is a platform to engage students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitise them on their electoral rights and familiarise them with the electoral process of registration and voting. Electoral literacy club works with the vision of Election Commission of India that aims at strengthening the culture of electoral participation among young and future voters. The club conducts activities to stimulate and motivate students provoking them to think and ask questions.
