EXTEMPORE COMPETITION – NATIONAL READING DAY – JUNE 19

Department of Business Administration conducted an extempore competition on 20th June 2022 to Celebrate National Reading Day. Competition was conducted in classroom F02 (SF block). Asst. Prof. Seena Mary Jose was the faculty coordinator of the programme. Student coordinators were Adithya R Nair (Sem 5) and Aleena Mariam Thomas (Sem5). Students were instructed to speak on different topics either in English or Malayalam. Topic was given to the participants 2 minutes before the presentation and a maximum of 5 minutes was given to them to present their topic. Afreen Irfan of BCom CA Aided secured first position and Aalaap U S of BCom CA Aided secured second prize. Winners were provided cash prizes and certificates for their achievement.

Seminar Topic: Orientation to KMAT Preparation

On 28th February 2022, the department of Business Administration conducted a seminar as an orientation to KMAT and its preparations at the Baccinelli Hall in St. Paul’s College Kalamassery. Mr. Deepak Mohan, Director, Edulights Knowledge Hub, Asst. Professor, Department of Management Studies, KMM College of Arts and Sciences, Thrikkakara was the resource person of the day. The whole gathering was greeted through a welcome speech by Amala Mathew, faculty coordinator. The seminar began at 9:30am. The resource person acknowledged the students about the KMAT exams and the preparations required in order to appear for the same. Once the introduction was done, he used certain PowerPoint presentations which had certain questions from the different topics of the KMAT exams. A whole different aura was created once he started discussing those questions. A very enthusiastic and energetic participation was depicted by the students. The involvement of Mr. Deepak sir definitely gave a good introduction to the topics involved in the KMAT exams.The program ended with a vote of thanks delivered by one of the students. The entire event was coordinated with the support of the Principal, Dr. Savitha KS, faculty coordinators and the participants.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION – 2021

Department of Business Administration celebrated Christmas on 23rd December 2021. As part of celebration, a crib making competition was jointly organised by the Departments of BBA, Computer Science and Logistics Management under the title ‘Nano Crib Making Competition.’ The programme was coordinated by Ms. Mary Jaisy K.X, Asst. Professor, Department of Business Administration. For making nano crib only eco-friendly items were allowed to be used. Students consisting of a group four each from the following departments had participated in the crib making competition – Economics, English (Aided), English (SF), Chemistry, Maths, Bvoc Banking and BCom CA(Aided). English (Aided) bagged the first prize. Second and Third prize were awarded to Economics and Chemistry Departments respectively. The fun-filled competition had spread the joy of togetherness and unity amidst the covid situation. The competition was held in strict adherence to covid protocols.

 

POSTER COMPETITION – HUMAN RIGHTS DAY – DECEMBER 10


On December 10 – Human Rights Day, Department of Business Administration conducted poster drawing competition. The theme was ‘All Human, All Equal ‘. Students were instructed to send their hand drawings within 15 December 2021. Asst. prof. Seena Mary Jose was the faculty coordinator of the programme. Fathima P N (Sem 1, BBA) was the student coordinator. Athul Kumar P A of B Voc logistics management (Sem 3) secured first position and Mariya Shaju of BBA (Sem 1) secured second position. Winners were provided certificates for their achievement.

Seminar on “Understanding An Enterprise through the Business Model Canvas”

A one-day seminar on “Understanding An Enterprise through the Business Model Canvas” was organized at the Baccinelli Hall on Tuesday, 16th November 2021 at St Paul’s College, Kalamassery. Mr. George Paul, Dean and Associate professor Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Kochi, welcomed the participants and introduced the topic to all. The seminar was chaired by Manager Rev Fr. Joseph Antony Palliparambil. The event was organized by the Department of Business Administration in collaboration with XIME, Kochi.

DEEKSHARAMBH – 2021
GOAL SETTING

Department of Business Administration , as a part of department level orientation  of Deeksharambh for semester 1 students, conducted a webinar  on ‘ Goal  setting ’ on 1 October   2021. Ms. Lisha Joseph , HR Manager ,Graduate Oveseas Education Advisory was the resource person for the webinar. Ms. Lisha  detailed that goal setting is fundamental to long term success. She pointed out that  the process of setting goals will help the students to choose where they want to go in life.  It was followed by a question- answer session , students asked their doubts and Ms. Lisha  cleared  their doubts. INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS ACCOUNTING

Department of Business Administration conducted a Webinar  on ‘ Introduction to Business Accounting’ on 16 September 2021. It was conducted for Semester 3 and semester 5 Students of  Business Administration . Prof. Biju KG , Department of IT ,CUSAT , Kalamassery  was the resource person for the webinar. Prof. Biju detailed about the practical application of Accounting in Business. He briefly explained the preparation of Final accounts also. TEACHER’S DAY – SEPTEMBER 05

On September 05 , Teacher’s Day , Department of Business Administration came up with an initiative to thank all the teachers.Asst. Prof. Mary Jaisy K X was the faculty coordinator of the programme. Student coordinators were Krishnapriya K (Sem5) , Sansia Gonsalves (Sem 5)  Hamna Hassan (Sem 3)  and Vishnukumar ( Sem 3). Students from S3 and S5 BBA shared the qualities of teachers that inspired them most.

World Entrepreneur’s Day

Department of Business Administration St. Paul’s Kalamassery and Department of Business Administration, St. Albert’s College Celebrated World Entrepreneur’s Day through a webinar. Mr. Bobby Chemannur, Entrepreneur was the Resource Person for the day. Students from various Colleges actively participated in the webinar and interacted with the resource person. Mr. Bobby Chemannur shared his experience of running business successfully for many years. Asst Prof Reshma Mariam Mohan and Asst.Professor Amala Mathew coordinated the event.

ONAM CELEBRATION 2021

Department of Business Administration celebrated Onam under the title  “Ullath kond Onam pole” on 18th August 2021 at 11.30am through Google Meet. Students of S3 BBA and S5 BBA actively participated in the function.  Head of the Department, Rev. Fr. Joseph Antony Palliparambil presided the function. Asst. Prof Amala Mathew welcomed the ceremony. The celebration was enriched with Onam song by Keren Babu, onam history by Adithya R Nair and memory sharing by Rohit Gireesh and Vishnukumar A K, students of S3 BBA. Onam song video sung by students and teachers of BBA was played during the program. A picture of Mahabali drawn by Hiba Hashim was also shown. Asst. Prof Reshma Mariam Mohan conveyed her Onam wishes to everyone. A fun-filled Malayali manka and Sreeman competition was held and Limna Lenin was declared as Malayali Manka and Vishnukumar A.K was declared as Sreeman for the year 2021. The programme ended at 12.30pm.

Webinar on How to Touch the Sky with Glory

A webinar on “How to Touch the Sky with Glory” was conducted by the Department of Business Administration in association with NCC on 26.07.2021 to commemorate the Vijay KargilDiwas. The resource person for the webinar was Flying Officer Mohammed JS, who is working as a Pilot in the Indian Air Force. A total of 85 participants took part in the webinar, which included BBA students as well as NCC Cadets.

My Future My Career

Department of Business Administration conducted a Career Guidance Webinar ‘ My Future  My Career ’ on 21 June 2021. It was conducted for students awaiting their plus two results and are interested in Business Administration and Logistics Management. Asst. Prof. Reshma Mariam and Asst.Prof.Amala Mathew were the resource persons for the webinar.Both are faculties of Dept. Of Business Administration ,St.Paul,s College, Kalamassery. Asst. Prof. Reshma Mariam introduced the BBA program to the participants. She detailed about  the course   structure   , Industrial  Projects  involved and opportunities they  will  get  after  BBA  Program.    Asst.Prof . Amala Mathew introduced B.Voc Logistics Program to the Participants. She pointed that Bvoc.Logistics is a vocational course, after completing first year , Students get Diploma in Logistics Management ,after completing Second year they will get Advanced Diploma in Logistics Management and a student completing third year will get Degree in Logistics Management. She also detailed the course structure and opportunities of studying Logistics Management. It was followed by a question- answer session , students asked their doubts and Asst. Prof .Reshma and Asst. Prof. Amala cleared their doubts.

Essay writing Competition – National Reading Day – June 19

On June 19 – National reading Day , Department of Business Administration conducted an Essay writing competition on “ My Favourite Book ”. Students were instructed to send their handwritten copies of Essays within 24 June 2021. Entries were accepted in Malayalam and English . Asst. Prof. Mary Jaisy K X was the faculty coordinator of the programme. Student coordinators were Krishnapriya K (Sem 5) and Adithya Manoj ( Sem 3). Sansia Gonsalves of BBA secured first position  and Abhirami Venugopal T V of BBA secured second prize in English Category. Harishma KR of B.Voc Banking and Financial Services secured first position and Fadiyathul Farzana of Bvoc Banking and Financial Services secured second prize in  Malayalam category. Winners were  provided certificates for their achievement.

World Anti-Tobacco Day Poster Making Competition – 31.05.2021

As part of World Anti – Tobacco Day, on 31st May 2021, Department of Logistics Management and Business Administration conducted an interdepartmental Poster Making Competition. We received 7 entries from various departments. Ms. Amala Mathew and Ms. Reshma Mariam Mohan were the program co-ordinators. Shifana T.S (BAEconomics) and Jomol John (BBA) shared the First prize and Annliya N.J (BCom CA, aided) secured the second prize. 

Industrial Visit report of semester one students of BBA on 20th March 2021

Students visited Title Graphics (P) Ltdon March 20th 2021, Saturday. Title Graphics Pvt. Ltd is a name synonymous with pioneering achievement in the Sign industries all over India. Established & Commenced Operations in 1998 with just 10 employees with a mission to achieve excellence in Sign fabrication, today the company is 250 plusemployees & a leading Signage Solutions provider across all segments, their latest development goes to specializations in Sign fabrications for Corporate Identity elements in the Automotive sector & International Retail Brands. Students got the opportunity to understand various processes happening in the firm and the firm representatives given them detailed description about the various activities. The visit was a great learning experience for them in various aspects. Many queries were asked by the students and all of them properly clarified by the firm authorities. A total of 34 students visited the firm they were guided or accompanied by two faculty members of BBA department, Nilsa V P and Jerin Shaju Francis.



Mentoring Sessions




Mentoring sessions were conducted for the students of all the 3 years by the faculties. Each faculty member was assigned with a total of 22 students each and students were given proper mentoring by meeting with them personally.

Student Participation in department beautification works

Students were actively involved in completing the beautification works. They made suggestions on how to beautify the department and was actively involved in preparing various craft works that can be used in the department.



PTA Meeting

PTA meeting was conducted for first year and final year students. The performance of the students was evaluated and was communicated to their parents. Feedbacks from parents were also collected during the meeting.


Presentation on Successful Entrepreneurs of Kerala

About the program:A presentation on Successful Entrepreneurs of Kerala is done by first year students on 18/02/2021. Students choose an entrepreneur who inspires them and their life story and achievements are presented in front of the entire class.

Outcome:It improves the presentation skills of the first year students and gives them the confidence to speak in front of the public. It also inspires the budding managers to think out of the box and come up with new innovative business plans.

Orientation program for BBA 2020 -23 batch 02.01.2021

In order to welcome the newest batch to our college, an Orientation program, Speranza 2021, was set up, to make the students familiarize with the campus, and to let them have the collective spirit as a Paulian. Asst. Professor Indu George from Albertian Institute of Management was the Chief Guest of the program. The students of 2020 -23 batch along with their parents actively participated in the event.

Webinar gave the participants an insight on the importance of setting goals in their early stages of their life. It also explained the importance of setting short term goals and long term goals, and how to achieve these goals by following some simple tips.

Webinar explained the different levels of motivation, using theories of motivation. It explained the needs, wants and desires of a human being, which are the root causes of our motivation.

Idea Pitching Assignment

Date: 17.02.2020

   A second phase for idea pitching assignment was conducted on 17th Feb 2020. This assignment was for the students of Department of Business Administration. Students were asked to bring up some innovative business ideas for starting their own venture.

Students were asked to think out of the box and many innovative ideas were generated. It helped the students in boosting their creative thinking.
